Onwards to SA Derby for Hioctdane

In Adelaide the Richard Jolly purchased and trained three-year-old Hioctdane ($46,000 2011 Classic, 3g Strada-Autobahn) continued his march towards the Group 1 SA Derby next week with a super impressive five length victory in the Group 2 SAJC Chairman’s Stakes over 2000m at Morphettville.

The Inglis Classic purchase has been set for the Derby since recording his first black-type victory in the Listed Hill Smith Stakes over 1800m last October. Today’s win proves he will be the one to beat in the $500,000 2500m Group 1 classic on 4 May.

By Strada from a daughter of Octagonal, Hioctdane (pictured as yearling) was bred by Forgotten Valley Stud and sold from their draft to Richard Jolly for $46,000 at the 2011 Inglis Sydney Classic Yearling Sale.

The dark brown three-year-old has now earned $145,000 for his connections thanks to three wins and two placings from just eight career starts.

Buyers looking to aim higher with an Inglis yearling are afforded three more purchasing opportunities during the 2013 Inglis Select Yearling Sales Series:
