Opportunities aplenty in May (Late) Online Sale

Mares carrying coveted pregnancies, talented, lightly raced gallopers with significant upside and several contenders for the $3m The Big Dance headline an Inglis Digital May (Late) Sale that is rich in depth.

With the Southern Hemisphere breeding stock sales in full swing, it’s no surprise there is a plethora of exciting breeding prospects entered in the sale.

Young broodmare Subtitle – the dam of G3 winner and G1 placed Rock and Stakes placed Femme Fireball from just five runners to date – is one of many quality broodmares that will attract attention of a wide range of potential buyers.

A tax mare, Subtitle is being offered in foal to exciting young stallion Home Affairs.

Powerplay is another impressive entry, being from a strong New Zealand family and offered in foal to So You Think.

Powerplay’s only foal to race is the promising John Sargent-trained 2YO Llewellyn, who debuted with a 2nd placing behind Group horse The Years in a high-rating race in February before being beaten just 2.3L at G3 level at his third and most recent start in March.

Another strong entry is Aaralyn, a three-quarter sister to world champion sprinter and now proven stallion Starspangledbanner, and a half sister to G1 winner Amicus.

Aaralyn – whose yearlings have sold up to $300,000 - is being offered in foal to exciting young Coolmore-based stallion Home Affairs.

There is an abundance of young racehorses that will suit any stable in Australia, New Zealand or Asia.

The Ciaron Maher and David Eustace-trained 3YO El Padrino (pictured) – winner of the Listed Inglis Nursery, a race won by the likes of She Will Reign, Wild Ruler, Extreme Choice, Mossfun etc – has plenty of upside, as has 4YO Hype, a winner of three of his nine starts including at Metropolitan level at his most recent outing last month.

There are also several prime contenders for The Big Dance, whose prizemoney this week was boosted to a staggering $3m.

Among them are the lightly race Camelot 5YO Hosier – a winner of 7 of his 13 starts and who started favourite in last year’s Big Dance – and Solar Apex, a five-time winner for Chris Waller.

The May (Late) catalogue of 358 entries includes 164 racehorses (78 race fillies), 106 broodmares, 37 racehorse shares, 32 yearlings, 17 weanlings and 2 unbroken stock.
