Ortensia arrvies safely in Hong Kong

Racenet - Brad Waters - Wednesday, 1 December 2010

Australia’s sole representative Ortensia has arrived safely in Hong Kong ahead of Sunday week’s Group I Hong Kong Sprint (1200m) at Sha Tin.

The mare left Melbourne on Tuesday morning to travel to Hong Kong, Ortensia’s trainer Tony Noonan told Sky Racing World the five-year-old had a trouble-free flight.

Noonan said the daughter of Testa Rossa ate and drank well on the 12-hour flight and has made it to her Asian destination in good order ahead of her first attempt at international competition.

Noonan’s son Jake has accompanied Ortensia to Hong Kong to continue the mare’s preparation before race rider Craig Williams takes over on race day.

Ortensia will attempt to win her first Group I race in the Hong Kong Sprint after Racing NSW stewards stripped the mare of her success in the Group I The Galaxy after the mare returned a positive swab.
