Patinack Farm has paid $775,000 to secure Group I-winning mare Devil Moon at the Australian Easter Broodmare Sale.

“We are delighted to have secured a mare with her race record and quality,” Patinack Farm general manager Rick Connolly said.

“We thought she was extremely good value and she can go to any of our stallions.

“She won’t race on and will go to either Casino Prince, Husson or Wonderful World but no decision has been made yet.”

Devil Moon retires as the winner of eight of her 24 starts with career earnings of $1,048,500.

Her biggest racetrack success came when she defeated a star-studded line-up in the 2007 Group I Turnbull Stakes.

She also scored black-type victories another five times, including the Group II Stock Stakes and the Group III Let’s Elope Stakes.
