The first of more than 880 horses have arrived at Newmarket ahead of the 2016 Inglis Australian Broodmare and Weanling Sale, for which the first day of inspections will kick off from 9am tomorrow, Wednesday 27 April.

The Championships in Sydney recently added plenty of black-type to the broodmares and weanlings to be offered at the sale. They include the dams of Japonisme and Faraway Town, relations to Prized Icon, Yattarna, Attention, Tavago and Lucia Valentina, plus Doncaster fourth place-getter Vergara.
Some of the lots with pedigree updates from The Championships and other recent stakes races from Australia and abroad include:
Weanlings
Lot 30 - War x Carmanesque colt – A half-brother to the dam of Group 3 ATC James HB Carr Stakes winner Yattarna.
Lot 63 - Hinchinbrook x Inaname colt – From the family of Group 1 ATC Queen Elizabeth Stakes winner Lucia Valentina.
Lot 67 - Choisir x Jive Talk filly – From the family of Group 1 MVRC William Reid Stakes runner-up Holler.
Lot 90 - Equiano x Pinpante colt – Half-brother to the dam of Group 3 MVRC Alexandra Stakes winner Thames Court.
Lot 153 - Duporth x Love The Feeling filly – From the family of Group 1 MVRC William Reid Stakes winner Flamberge.
Broodmares
Lot 224 Tarlaquena (Don Eduardo x Tropical Affair) – already a Group-producing mare, is the half-sister to Group 1 winning two-year-old Prized Icon, while a further six horses in the Gooree Park Stud reduction are from the family of the star juvenile.
Lot 232 Evening Glitter (Rock Of Gibraltar x Vain Deb) & Lot 647 Ballerina Girl (Danehill Dancer x Vain Deb) – Both half-sisters to the dam of two-year-old Group 3 ATC Schweppervescence Handicap winner Attention.
Lot 287 Rosa Stellata (Zabeel x Camino Rose) – The dam of two-year-old Lubiton, which won on debut and is nominated for the $125,000 Claret Stakes on Hawkesbury Guineas Day.
Lot 308 Coco Kerringle (Exceed And Excel x Dol) – Dam of debut winning two-year-old Decoco.
Lot 315 London Calling (Dehere x London Lights) – Dam of two-year-old Faraway Town, which is Group 1 placed after running third in ATC Champagne Stakes.
Lot 419 Napa Sky (Stravinsky x Tricia Ann) – Sister to the dam of Group 1 ATC Australian Derby winner Tavago.
Lot 550 Vergara (Snippetson x Graces Spirit) – Ran fourth behind Winx in Group 1 ATC Doncaster Handicap.
Lot 723 Diamond Glow (Bel Esprit x Prompt) – Half-sister to two-year-old Group 3 ATC Percy Sykes Stakes runner-up Prompt Response.
Lot 783 Haiku (Encosta de Lago x Emulate) – Dam of Group 1 winner Japonisme, which more recently won Group 2 ATC Arrowfield Sprint and holds nominations for the Royal Ascot Carnival in England.
