PILLAR OF HERCULES for Auction

29th Oct 2007

William Inglis & Son has been appointed to conduct an auction of leading Melbourne three-year-old PILLAR OF HERCULES on Friday morning at 11am.

The auction is subject to Supreme Court approval, which will be known before noon Wednesday October 31. A venue in Melbourne will be announced pending the outcome of the Supreme Court hearing.

The lightly raced PILLAR OF HERCULES is a last start winner of the Norman Robinson Stakes (Gr3) at Caulfield on October 20. The striking chestnut colt is trained at Caulfield by Peter Moody, who purchased him at the 2006 Australian Easter Yearling Sale for $475,000.

A son of Rock Of Gibraltar, who is enjoying a fine run of success in recent weeks, PILLAR OF HERCULES is bred on very similar lines to the Golden Slipper Stakes winner Catbird, being a grandson of Danehill while his dam Coat is an unraced half-sister to Catbird and Danbird.
