Pracey Travels For Second Inglis Trophy Victory

Hawkesbury trainer Joan Pracey claimed her second the $100,000 Inglis Trophy (1400m) at the Sale Turf Club in Victoria on Sunday. Asked To Leave won the lucrative event yesterday in very much the same manner as Upstacker in 2011, both having travelled 1,000 kms from Pracey’s home base.

Asked To Leave (Zizou x Cutting Off) came into the race from a Warwick Farm victory and fought hard to defeat other last start victors Fleeteor and Apoloboom for Gai Waterhouse and Henry Dwyer respectively.

"When this horse showed the same sort of form as Upstacker, I thought we should have another crack at the race. It’s good to be back. The great prize money on offer as part of the Inglis Race Series is a wonderful thing for my owners, it gives them an opportunity to buy another horse," said Pracey.

A $22,000 purchase from Goodwood Farm at the 2014 Inglis Classic Yearling Sale, Asked To Leave has netted $108,035 for his connections from eight starts. The $400,000 RL Inglis Guineas at Scone next May is the target later this season for the three-year-old.

“He has given us a great campaign, he will go to the paddock and then we will bring him back next year and try to win the Inglis Guineas at Scone,” Pracey added.

Upcoming races in the $5 million Inglis Race Series include:

$500,000 Inglis Nursery –2YOs – Randwick NSW, 1000m – Saturday, 12 December $250,000 Inglis Sprint – 3YOs – Randwick NSW, 1100m – Saturday, 12 December
