Promising Winner for Haradasun

Breednet - Tara Madgwick - Thursday, 13 December 2012

The opening event at Kyneton on Thursday was won by promising Haradasun three year-old Chosen Son, who finished hard to post his first win.

Given time to find his feet by Brad Rawiller, Chosen Son surged home late to overhaul the favourite Chilli Beach and win the 1100 metre maiden by a short neck.

The Luke Oliver trained colt was having only his second start and first run back from a spell, so will take plenty of improvement from this performance.

Chosen Son (pictured as a yearling) was a $60,000 Inglis Melbourne Premier Yearling Sale purchase for his trainer from the draft of Amarina Farm and is a three-quarter brother to stakes-winner Raffles Pegasus being the second winner from Redoute's Choice mare Fanfares.

Fanfares comes from a terrific family featuring Australian Horse of the Year Typhoon Tracy and Group I winners Danasinga, Suntagonal, Master of Design and Tracy's Element.

Fanfares has been a regular visitor to Coolmore sires and has a yearling colt by High Chaparral (IRE) and a filly foal by Encosta de Lago.

Chosen Son is another smart winner for former Champion 3YO Miler Haradasun, who has 11 yearlings in the 2013 Inglis Melbourne Premier Yearling Sale.
