The Inglis Digital September Online Auction reached new heights overnight, setting a gross record of more than $1.5 million.
The sale’s top lot was talented 4YO Elgin (NZ), which sold to Australian Bloodstock for $160,000.
Elgin was one of 12 horses offered unreserved by Nick and Llloyd Williams as part of a Hudson Conway Reduction consignment, within the September catalogue.
All 12 Macedon Lodge gallopers sold, for a combined total of $587,500.
Elgin, a 4YO son of Rip Van Winkle (IRE), ran third on debut at Ballarat in September and Australian Bloodstock’s Luke Murrell was excited by the purchase.
“The Inglis Digital platform has gone to another level in the last six months, the quality and range of stock has been outstanding and the opportunities it has offered have been fantastic,’’ Murrell said.
“Elgin is the perfect example; he’s obviously a lightly raced horse with some good upside.
“For my business, the professionalism that the Inglis Digital team offer is exceptional, you can buy off this platform with confidence and I look forward to the sale each month, as it’s been a great option for our business.”
The second top lot of the September sale was another Macedon Lodge galloper Kilimanjaro (IRE), which sold to Ciaron Maher Bloodstock for $140,000.
Other highlight results from the Hudson Conway Reduction include:
• Aloft (IRE) – $75,000
• Crocodile Rock (IRE) – $60,000
• Hans Holbein (GB) – $45,000
• Streetcar to Stars (GB) – $32,500
• Bondi Beach (IRE) – $25,000
Outside of the Hudson Conway Reduction, 4YO Commands mare Aphrodite Rock headed the race fillies and mares category.
WA-based operation Gervase Park Stud went to $75,000 for the Lindsay Park-consigned mare, who is bound for the breeding barn.
Redoute’s Choice gelding Silent Agenda was bought by trainer Noel Mayfield-Smith for $60,000.
The 3YO recently broke his maiden at Kembla Grange and is well-related, being a full brother to South African Group 1 winner Wylie Hall and a half to Hong Kong Group 1 winner Absolute Champion.
Ingham Bloodstock’s young Pierro mare L’Etoile topped the broodmare section at $42,500.
The 4YO is out of Group 3-winning mare Jade Marauder, herself a half sister to Bliss Street.
