25th Jun 2005
On a perfect Melbourne June day the buyers were out in force at the first day of the William Inglis & Son 2005 Weanling Sale. A record average, an outstanding clearance and a broad buying bench highlighted today’s sale.
The average price increased by 19.4% on the 2004 result with an excellent clearance of 91%.
Victorian’s former champion resident stallion, Encosta de Lago, again topped today’s session as he did at the Premier Yearling Sale. Another highlight of the sale was the popularity of first season sires such as Dash For Cash, Choisir, Delago Brom and Grass Wonder.
The sale continues tomorrow at 10.30am with lots by Encosta de Lago, Giant’s Causeway and Choisir expected to rival today’s top results.
