Records Smashed at Premier II

6th Mar 2006

The one day second session of the Inglis Premier Yearling Sale concluded in spectacular fashion at Oaklands today, with strong trade bringing across the board gains and record-breaking figures in all areas.

In only it's fourth year, the Premier II sale posted a new record aggregate of $2,823,500 for 114 yearlings sold – up a massive 144 per cent on last year's turnover, and a new record average of $24,768 – an increase of over 56 per cent .

Buyers stayed at the sale from all over Australia , New Zealand , Hong Kong and Singapore to bid on some of the best yearlings at Premier II.

Inglis Managing Director Reg Inglis said “We are extremely satisfied with today's sale and are looking forward to further increases next year. The Inglis organisation is now looking forward to Easter.”

Victorian based sire Testa Rossa was responsible for the $80,000 top-priced lot, a filly out of the Success Express mare Western Success consigned by Yallambee Stud. The September foaled yearling was bought by Victorian based Lauriston Thoroughbreds.
