Bloodstock buyers can register now for approval to utilise the new Inglis online bidding system by going to www.inglis.com.au. This service will be available for the Sydney Autumn Thoroughbred Sale on Monday March 17 and for all Inglis sales after that date, including the Inglis Easter Yearling and Broodmare sales commencing April 20. Anyone interested in buying a horse entered in Monday’s sale but can’t make it to Newmarket should register now and apply for credit approval. Once approved for credit, buyers simply need to login via the Inglis website on sale day and bid when the relevant lot enters the ring. Bidders will be able to see the horse in the ring, hear the auctioneer and see the asking bid price for each lot. To bid, clients simply need to click on the bid button if they are happy with the asking price displayed on the screen. The online system will not allow a client to bid over their approved credit limit for each sale.
The service will enable anyone to bid online direct at auction from anywhere
in the world. In announcing this new service, Inglis managing director Mark
Webster explains that the move is all part of improving the service to both
vendor and purchaser. “Our goal will always be to get buyers to attend
our sales in person, but real time online auction bidding technology is the
next best thing to being there and we feel there is a real opportunity to broaden
our buying bench by offering this free supplementary service. We have selected
Live Global Bid (LGB) as our exclusive partner because they have a proven track
record in delivery.”
Inglis have trialled the system and have achieved almost instant receipt of
bids in the auctioneers box from around the world, using our staff in the USA,
UK and NZ as trial bidders.
To assist buyers who are not able to attend the sale, Inglis staff are available to inspect horses and can arrange Vet checks if required. Buyers who need assistance should call the Inglis Sydney office during business hours on +612 9399 7999 and speak to a member of the Inglis bloodstock team. Following a successful online bid, Inglis staff will contact online buyers to arrange transport for their new acquisitions and will send and invoice for payment within 30 days.
The Sydney Autumn Thoroughbred Sale will commence at 11am on Monday March 17 and amongst the 229 entries are a good number of broodmares, weanlings, yearlings, broken stock and tried racehorses. There have been 42 supplementary entries for this sale since the catalogue was distributed two weeks ago. The updated catalogue and the online registration page are available at www.inglis.com.au.
