Sale-topper Profoundly realises $360,000 in August (Late) Sale

The G1 Australian Oaks placegetter Profoundly (Farnan) topped today’s Inglis Digital August (Late) Online Sale, selling to Boomer Bloodstock for $360,000.

The mare was offered by her trainer Michael Freedman on behalf of her owners and was purchased by Boomer Bloodstock’s Craig Rounsefell for client Peter Murray.

“Peter is building a very strong, young, boutique broodmare band at Three Bridges and Profoundly fits the mould perfectly for what he is looking for,’’ Rounsefell said.

“We’ve already done plenty of work on a mating plan for her but we will make a final decision on which stallion she visits within the next week.

“We thought she was very fairly valued at $360,000, that’s about where we thought she would land and sometimes the cards fall your way and they certainly did today.’’

Today’s second-top lot was fellow 4YO mare Eyes Of Blue, which realised $235,000 to the bid of Reg Ryan.

Eyes Of Blue, a sister to G1 sprinter Bridal Waltz, was offered by renowned breeders the Pope family.

Ryan confirmed the mare would visit Ole Kirk this spring, a stallion he owns a share in.

“I think she’s perfect for him,’’ Ryan said.

“The pedigree is tremendous, it’s one of those families you’d like to get into if you want to be at the top end, that’s for sure, so I thought she was worth having a go at.

“I basically had $200,000 on her, I thought I could get her for that but apparently I was wrong, somebody else had the same idea so I was pretty stretched at the end but thankfully I got the last bid in, which is the important one.

“Inglis Digital is pretty bloody straight forward, it’s easy to use, I’m an older bloke who hasn’t had much experience with digital stuff but now even I’ve got my head around Inglis Digital and it’s really easy.’’

Today’s third-top lot honours were shared between racehorses Without Parallel and No Friends, both selling for $165,000.

Polaris Bloodstock’s Adrian Corboy – who sold No Friends – was delighted with the result, saying: “We picked him up for $25,000 as a yearling at Inglis Classic and sold him today for $165,000 after two starts, so it’s a good turnaround.

“[Inglis Bloodstock Consultant] Sinead [Flannery] was great, she helps me out a lot, she’s very helpful and very supportive and always answers the phone and I couldn’t do it without her.’’

In all there were six lots to realise $100,000 or more in the August (Late) Sale including Fire Star selling to David Pfieffer for $140,000 and Avengers realising $120,000 to the bid of the Executive Racing Club.

Today’s results takes the total number of six-figure lots sold on Inglis Digital since 2025 to 215.

In total today’s sale grossed $3,551,400.

Entries are now open for the Inglis Digital September (Early) Sale, which will run from September 4-9.

Entries close at midnight next Wednesday, September 2.
