2012 Patinack Farm Blue Diamond Stakes winner Samaready continued her progress towards a return to the racetrack, with an impressive jumpout at Caulfield this morning.
Ridden by her race jockey Craig Newitt, Samaready quickly bounced to the front and was well clear of her rivals at the end of the 800 metres.
''It was a pretty soft trial here this morning and she did it hard on the bit,'' Newitt said.
Newitt said Samaready which only raced once in the spring was showing the benefit of a lengthy spring break.
''To ride her, she's the filly that we know from her two-year-old days.
''That spell she had after the setback in the spring has definitely been the making of her; she's a lot stronger and is much better in the coat.''
Newitt said Samaready would likely have another jumpout next Tuesday before trainer Mick Price decides where she will resume.
''I'm not sure where Mick plans to kick her off but it is probably a toss up between the Oakleigh Plate and Lightning Stakes.''
Of course a start in the Black Caviar Lightning Stakes will mean a likely clash with Black Caviar who will resume in that race and Newitt is under no illusions as to how tough it will be taking on the unbeaten mare.
''It's a daunting task but she's probably going to end up meeting her eventually.
''Do you want to do that first up? That is the question.
''As a three-year-old filly she should get into a race like the Lightning pretty well at the weights so that would certainly be a good option,'' Newitt said.
