Scone Broodmare

Set to be held this Friday, August 24, the inaugural 2007 William Inglis & Son Scone Broodmare Sale is sure to command plenty of interest from the hundreds of breeders sure to be in the Hunter Valley for the Annual Stallion Parades held over the weekend.

A catalogue of over 140 race fillies and mares has been assembled, many in foal to stallions including Choisir, Al Maher, Elvstroem, Johannesburg (USA), Magic Albert, Snippetson, Untouchable and Catbird.

With numerous local vendors supporting the sale including Emirates Park, Widden Stud, Kitchwin Hills, Holbrook Thoroughbreds, Middlebrook Valley Lodge, Southern Cross Breeders, Yarraman Park and Thommo’s Australia Pty Ltd, the quality on offer is sure to be well extremely received.

Some highlights sure to create plenty of interest include:

  • Lot 4 - Admiral’s Lass; Broadwater Farm as agent, a city winning half-sister to stakes winners Au Chocolat and the up and coming Isurava, family of Tie The Knot. Believed to be in foal to Danasinga;
  • Lot 10 - Basmah; Emirates Park Pty Ltd, half-sister to Group Three winner and multiple Group One placed Dane Belltar. Believed to be in foal to Al Maher;
  • Lot 19 - Catwalk Miss; H.P. & P.J. Enterprises Pty Ltd, half-sister to multiple stakes winner Irish Pride. Believed to be in foal to Elvstroem;
  • Lot 27 - Dark Intrigue; Widden Stud as agent, six time winning Unbridled’s Song mare from the family of stakes winners Subzero, Centro, Niagara Falls, etc. Believed to be in foal to Catbird;
  • Lot 33 - Dream Machine; Southern Cross Breeders, Group Three winning Nothin’ Leica Dane mare, has not been to stud. From the family of Group One winners Travel Light and Only A Lady;
  • Lot 38 - Elishir; Toikan Park as agent, dam of Listed winner Shepishir;
  • Lot 45 - Figmentation; P. Burnitt, winning Commands half-sister to stakes winner Fragmentation, from the family of Group Two winner De Lago Mist. Has not been to stud;
  • Lot 95 - Piorun (CAN); Broadwater Farm as agent, half-sister to Group One winner Val D’Arno (USA), dam of Group Two winner Pelt. Believed to be in foal to Strategic, sire of boom 3YO Meurice;
  • Lot 116 - So Long Pop (USA); J. Connery, half-sister to the dam of multiple Group Two winner and sire Brave Warrior, closely related to Group One winner Shamekha. Believed to be in foal to Snippetson;
  • Lot 129 - Thikra; Emirates Park Pty Ltd, Danewin half-sister to stakes winner Cool Trent. Family of Group One winners Canny Lass, Canny Lad, Camarena and Camarilla. Believed to be in foal to Secret Savings (USA);
  • Lot 132 - Twilight Hour (NZ); Yarraman Park as agent, Listed winner of nine races, dam of three winners. Believed to be in foal to Catbird;
  • Lot 139 - Zenarta; N. Olive, four time winning Orpen (USA) mare. Multiple stakes performed including 2nd Group One SAJC Australasian Oaks. Has not been to stud.
