The sale will be held over two day on May 13 and 16 around the massive Scone Cup meeting on May 14.

Sires represented include Redoute's Choice, Stratum, More Than Ready, Rock Of Gibraltar, General Nediym, Snitzel, Charge Forward, Choisir, Flying Spur, Lonhro and Foreplay, stallions who had runners in last week's Golden Slipper Stakes.

Other eminent sire in the calogue inlcude Anabaa, Arena, Bel Esprit, Canny Lad, Dane Shadow, Danzero, Exceed And Excel, Falvelon, Elvstroem, Fusaichi Pegasus, Hussonet, Johannesburg, Kitten's Joy, Hidden Dragon, Magic Albert, Lucky Owners, Mossman, Not A Single Doubt, O'Reilly, Royal Academy, Show A Heart, Starcraft, Testa Rossa and Zeditave.

A record 412 lots are in the catalogue and is undoubtedly the most impressive in the 65 years of Scone sales with the first day designated as the “premier” session.

The number catalogued is nearly double last year's numbers when the sale was restricted to one day.

The big jump in numbers and quality follows a dramatic increase in the size of the books of mares going to many local sires.

Principal vendors include Amarina Farm (eight lots), Ambergate Farm (6), Arrowfield (14), Bowness (7), Caramar Park (7), Cressfield (6), Crowning Stone (7), Emirates Park (9), Fairview Park (9), Golden Grove (8), Holbrook Thoroughbreds (7), Kanangra (9), Lomar Park (7), Middlebrook Valley Lodge (9), Murrulla (10), Patinack Farm (9), Red Gums (6), Segenhoe (7), Southern Cross Breeders (11), Tamac (6), Toolooganvale (7), Torryburn (7), Turangga (9), Vinery (11), Widden (12), Wimmera (9) and Yarraman Park (10).

The Scone Cup race meeting on May 14 is the richest one day program in country racing with over $1.2 million in prize money for races such as the inaugural running of the $770,000 Inglis Guineas for 3YOs over 1600m, the Listed $120,000 Emirates Park Scone Cup and the Listed $110,000 Yarraman Park Dark Jewel Classic for fillies and mares and the $100,000 Inglis Challenge for 2YOs.

The sales and race meeting are highlights of the annual Scone Horse Festival which kicks off at the beginning of May and runs for two weeks.

The annual Hunter Valley Breeders Dinner and Awards will be held on May12
