Scone Yearling Sale Tomorrow

The 60th annual HTBA Inglis Scone Yearling Sale will be held at White Park tomorrow, ahead of Friday's Scone Cup meeting, which features the $100,000 Scone Inglis Challenge.

The Inglis Challenge (2yo 1300m), which is restricted to graduates of the 2008 Scone Sale only, has attracted a maximum field of 14 runners.

Among the chances is Dane Shadow youngster Hewentwhoosh, a $4500 graduate of last year's sale that ran third in the recent $50,000 Inglis Bonus race at Wagga.

The filly Tagurit (Noverre) cost just $7500 and she too will be among the more fancied runners after a last start third in metropolitan company at Canterbury.

Graduates of this year's sale will be eligible for the 2010 Scone Inglis Challenge, in addition to other Bonus events as part of the $2.5M Inglis Race Series.

The Scone sale has a proud tradition of unearthing outstanding horses, with the current pin up being the multiple Group winning mare Hot Danish, whose earnings are now on the verge of $1million after she cost just $32,000 at the 2005 sale.

Tomorrow's catalogue comprises 212 lots, with a host of leading domestic and international sires represented, alongside a number of promising newcomers.

Selling begins at 10.30am and Withdrawn Lots are now online.

Online bidding and Inglis Sale Day Live are not being used at this sale, but horses passed in through the ring will be available via the Make an Offer service.

The HTBA Scone Yearling Sale will be followed by the Melbourne Great Southern Sale, which begins with the Weanling session on Monday May 18 and Tuesday May 19, followed by the Bloodstock Section on Wednesday May 20 and Thursday May 21.
