Sea Battle A Breeze Up Bargain

17th Oct 2006

Sea Battle’s half length win at Warwick Farm today added further credence to the success of the William Inglis & Son Breeze Up sale which will be held again this year in Melbourne on MVRC Cox Plate weekend.

Stepping out for only the third time the talented Quest For Fame (GB) colt has proven a bargain purchase for connections who outlaid only $15,000 to secure him.

Prepared by the successful team of Synergy Racing at Glenfern Park, they will offer a stellar line up of over 15 horses this year, including the highly anticipated Danehill Dancer (IRE) 3YO colt, who is bred on the identical cross that has produced multiple Gr. 1 winner and now black type producing sire, Choisir.

A strong catalogue this year of over 140 lots includes both 2 & 3YO’s by Group 1 producing sires including Redoute’s Choice, Encosta de Lago, Commands, Anabaa and More Than Ready as well as a sole offering from the one of the hottest young stallion prospects around in Choisir.

The sale is a proven source of genuine topline performers. In recent years graduates have won or placed in over 150 stakes races including 30 Group Ones with individual sales producing 75% winners and 10% stakes performers to runners. More than 200 graduates have won overseas, the majority of those throughout Asia.

Thursday 26th at 11am will see the commencement of the vital breeze up session, where all horses will be timed running their final furlong. Conducted on the newly built track at the Oaklands Junction complex, all vendors will have the opportunity to work on the track prior to the breeze up session. From Monday 23rd through to Wednesday 25th, horses will be permitted to work on the track between the hours of 9am to 11am and then again at 1pm to 3pm.

Open for the general public, the Breeze Up sessions will be videoed and will available both online and on DVD from the morning of Friday 27th. For further information contact the Melbourne office on 03 9333 1422.
