Shares in Cup contenders on offer in select Inglis Digital sale

Next week will see shares in Melbourne Cup contenders offered on Inglis Digital, giving buyers the opportunity to have a runner in Australia’s most iconic race, just days out from the first Tuesday in November.

Multiple shares will be offered in Vauban and Wine Dark Sea as part of a select Inglis Digital Spring Carnival Sale which will open for bidding on Monday.

Vauban, trained by Gai Waterhouse and Adrian Bott, has earned more than $2.6 million in prizemoney and boasts an impressive record across Europe and Australia.

A winner of the G3 Sky High Stakes in the autumn, before placing in the G1 Tancred Stakes and Doomben Cup, Vauban resumed this campaign in Wednesday’s Geelong Cup under a heavy impost of 60.5kg ahead of another tilt at the Melbourne Cup, a race which he has contested the past three years.

Wine Dark Sea has emerged as an exciting staying prospect for Australian Bloodstock.

Trained by Harry Charlton, Wine Dark Sea recorded an emphatic 13-length victory at Carlisle in June, before winning the G3 Geoffrey Freer Stakes at Newbury in August, defeating Dubai Honour.

He subsequently contested the G1 Caulfield Cup and is a horse of considerable interest as his Australian career progresses.

Inglis Digital Business Manager Nick Melmeth said the platform continued to generate strong demand for shares in quality racehorses.

“We’ve seen fantastic demand for shares on Inglis Digital, most recently with G1 Everest runner Ninja, Fireball Miss and Decorum,” Melmeth said.

“The platform also has a great record for selling shares in horses that have gone on to win at G1 level, such as Charm Stone, Baraqiel, Light Infantry Man and Benedetta.

“Vauban is an established performer at the highest level, while Wine Dark Sea is an exciting stayer with the profile to make a big impression in Australia.

“Both offer buyers the opportunity to become immediately involved in the spring racing action.

“There is the potential to facilitate additional suitable entries until Monday morning, so I’d encourage any owners or syndicators interested in offering shares to contact me or a member of the Inglis Bloodstock team,” Melmeth said.

Bidding in the Inglis Digital Spring Carnival Sale will open at 12pm (AEDT) on Monday October 26, with the final countdown of bidding to commence from 4pm on Wednesday, October 28.
