Shipton Lodge Dispersal Fillies Worthy of Top Studs

Astute breeders looking to invest in young fillies with high grade residual value because of the quality of their sires and depth of maternal black type could do well to consider those in the Shipton Lodge, Cobbitty, NSW contribution to the Inglis inaugural Australian Racehorse sale to be conducted at their Victorian sales centre next Sunday, November 15.

In a dispersal of breeding and racing prospects, Shipton have booked in a consignment of 28 lots, including 14 females, young offspring of Red Ransom, Galileo, Flying Spur, Redoute's Choice, Lonhro, Catbird, Fusaichi Pegasus, King's Best, Anabaa, Fantastic Light and Falbrav.

Two by hot sires and from richly related mares are a Red Ransom 2-year-old and a yet to be tested Anabaa 3-year-old.

Sire of All American, winner at Flemington on Saturday of the million dollar Emirates Stakes, Red Ransom got his filly from a Zabeel mare out of Polo, a half-sister by Danzero to the dam of Ha Ha, winner of the Golden Slipper and Flight Stakes.

Currently sire of Goldikova, a claimant for the title of being the best miler in the world at this time following her win at the weekend for the second time of the American Breeders' Cup Mile, Anabaa got his Shipton Lodge filly from Sparkling Shiraz.

She is a winner producing half-sister to two times champion Australasian champion filly Starstruck and they are from a daughter of a half-sister to Kentucky Derby winner Canonero.

A strongly bred Lonhro 2-year-old filly in the draft is an August 4 foal out of Our Grace, a Commands winning half-sister to the dam of the good racehorse and sire Magic Albert.

Inglis have over 200 lots booked into this new sale, including 155 in the initial catalogue, 50 of them females.

Eye-catchers on breeding in addition to those from Shipton Lodge include young daughters of Exceed and Excel, Choisir, Elusive Quality, General Nediym, Bel Esprit,Testa Rossa, Mossman, Royal Academy, Show a Heart, Elvstroem, Johannesburg and Bianconi.

Among the males listed are 2-year-olds by God's Own, Undoubtedly, Flying Spur, Shamardal, Oratorio, Beautiful Crown, Testa Rossa, Statue of Liberty and Arena.
