Spectacular Classic sale leads Inglis into a new era

Inglis’ Riverside Stables era has begun in the most astonishing fashion imaginable, with a stunning Book 2 today complementing a record-breaking Book 1 to take the sale to never-before-seen levels.

Book 2 of the Classic Sale has proved a resounding success, proving unequivocally it has a permanent home in the Australian marketplace.

With an average of $44,914, clearance rate of 88% and a gross of $7,051,500 it exceeded all expectations, taking the total gross of the four days of selling to $55,518,000.

Queenslanders Eureka Stud were the big winners of the day, ending Book 2 as leading vendor by aggregate ($707,500) and average ($117,917) and celebrating a 100% clearance rate from six offerings.

Eureka’s star stallion Spirit Of Boom topped the leading sire page in both aggregate ($675,000) and average for three or more sold ($135,000).

Eureka’s Angus McAlpine was stunned when informed they were leading vendor.

“Us? Are you sure? That’s unbelievable,’’ he said.

“A massive thank you to Inglis for allowing us to bring our draft to what has been an absolutely phenomenal sale at an absolutely phenomenal venue.’’
