Spring Racing Carnival Media Awards

Racing Victoria last night announced the winners of its 2011 Spring Racing Carnival Media Awards which recognise the efforts of local, interstate and international media who provided outstanding coverage of the 2011 Melbourne Spring Racing Carnival.

To be eligible entries must have been published or aired, anywhere in the world, between 12 September 2011 and 20 November 2011

Racing Victoria wishes to thank all members of the media who entered the awards for their high quality entries and support and extends its congratulations to the category winners;

Best Television Coverage / Story
Winner – Bruce Clark (TVN) for ‘This Racing Life - Black Caviar’ special.

Best Radio Coverage / Story
Winner – Racing Ahead (Shane Anderson) for its overall coverage with extensive coverage including interviews, analysis and regular segments.

Best Online Coverage / Story Winner – News Limited for their SuperRacing website

Best Newspaper Coverage / Story Winner – Pat Bartley (The Age) for his feature titled ‘Second Time Lucky’ – the story of Gary Towzell, part-owner of December Draw.

Best Photograph (Tie) Winners – Colleen Petch (Herald Sun) for her photo of Jim Conlan and Rekindled Interest and Pat Scala (The Age) for his photo of Craig Williams’ star jump from Pinker Pinker.

Each category winner collects a $2000 cash award and a commemorative trophy.
