Stratum a hit in Hong Kong

Racing And Sports - Monday, 18 June 2012

Leading young sire Stratum is building an imposing record with his early runners in Hong Kong.

He again featured at Sha Tin on Sunday when his three year-old son Thanksgiving broke through for his first win.

Stratum has had just four runners in Hong Kong for three winners, which will certainly not go unnoticed by Asian buyers at future Australian sales.

The John Moore trained Thanksgiving carried 60kg and finished off strongly to win his 1600m event by a length and three-quarters.

A $115,000 purchase for George Moore Bloodstock from the Manx Park draft at the 2010 Inglis Melbourne Premier Yearling Sale, Thanksgiving (pictured as yearling) is the first foal of Benita, a half-sister by Octagonal to stakes-winner Victory Dash from the family of champion 2YO Tierce.
