Strong Catalogue For Melbourne August Thoroughbred Sale Now Online

Featuring a number of high-profile drafts, the catalogue for next month’s two-day 2012 Inglis Melbourne August Thoroughbred Sale is now available online at www.inglis.com.au

The thriving sale will be held at Inglis’ Oaklands complex on Thursday 16 August and Friday 17 August 2012.

The sale will be preceded by a parade of Victoria’s first season sires, commencing at 12 noon on Thursday. Details of the First Season Sire parade are available HERE

114 Broodmares will be offered immediately following the stallion parade at 12.30pm.

New season yearlings, unbroken stock, race fillies and racehorses will follow on Friday, commencing at 10.00am, with the earlier start due to the large number of entries in this section.

Broodmares entered in the main catalogue include Mark Kavanagh’s Group 3 winner Valentine Miss off the track, Listed winner Fashion Victim which is being sold with a 2012 service to Star Witness, plus young filly La Dolce Diva which is a daughter of triple Melbourne Cup winner Makybe Diva.

Covering stallions of broodmares catalogued include exciting young stallions Artie Schiller, Astronomer Royal, Bushranger, Domesday, Foreplay, Magnus, Not A Single Doubt, Reward For Effort, Turffontein, Von Costa de Hero, Wanted and Written Tycoon.

Makybe have entered a great selection of 10 new season yearlings into the catalogue, including progeny by Al Maher, Casino Prince, Domesday, I Am Invincible and Purrealist. Yearlings will get Friday’s sale underway and will be followed by unbroken stock then the racehorse section.

Significant drafts from Wadham Park, Darley, Eliza Park, Tony Noonan Racing and Wood Nook Farm have taken the number of racehorses entered in the Melbourne August Thoroughbred Sale to 164 lots.

Sires represented in the racing section on Friday include Artie Schiller (2), Bel Esprit (4), Choisir (3), Commands (5), Encosta de Lago (4), Exceed And Excel (2), Fastnet Rock (8), Hussonet (3), Lonhro (3), More Than Ready (2), Not A Single Doubt (2), Redoute’s Choice (1), Rock Of Gibraltar (5), Snitzel (1), Starcraft (2), Stratum (1) and Testa Rossa (2).

Racefillies include Listed winner Swooper, the Group 3 placed Let’s Be Happy and Simply Put, plus last Saturday’s Flemington winner The Long Road.

The race colts and geldings section also includes multiple stakes performed gallopers and city winners, as well as lightly raced and unraced prospects.

“August is perfect for the trading of broodmares with many exciting young stallions retiring to stud in Victoria this coming breeding season.
