Summer sensation back for autumn

Racenet - Clinton Payne - Tuesday, 1 February 2011

One of Australia’s most promising gallopers returned to work on Monday to prepare for an autumn and winter campaign.

Wyong trainer Stephen Farley was speaking with a grin when telling Racenet that Sincero had returned to his stables.

“He’s great,” Farley said. “He looks good, has thickened up a little bit.

“He’s put on enough weight without being too fat so I’ve got a bit to work with.”

Sincero created a huge impression in Sydney during December, lumping big weights when recording three good wins which resulted in seven figure offers flooding in from Hong Kong.

The three-year-old son of Umatilla is being prepared for a campaign that will kick off in the $250,000 Listed Gosford Guineas (1200m) on April 17.

The gelding will then progress to the $150,000 Listed Hawkesbury Guineas (1400m) on May 1, before contesting the $250,000+ (All monies paid into the Inglis Race Series remaining after all bonus races are run be disbursed into the Inglis Guineas to a maximum of $500,000) Inglis Scone Guineas (1600m) at Scone on May 14.

From there, Farley will reassess his options, with the $1 million Group I Stradbroke Handicap (1400m) at Eagle Farm on June 11 a possible target.
