Superb display by All Too Hard in Group 1 Futurity

Like his undefeated sibling Black Caviar last week, star three-year-old All Too Hard went to another level at Caulfield this Saturday, putting on a superb display to storm away to a three length victory in the $500,000 Group 1 MRC Futurity Stakes over 1400m.

All Too Hard ($1,025,000 2011 Easter, 3c Casino Prince-Helsinge) was the first out of the gates before being restrained by jockey Dwayne Dunn to sit just behind the speed. The colt whipped around the field coming into the straight and showed a superior turn-of-foot to put the race beyond doubt in the style of an outstanding weight-for-age galloper.

“I put a label on him early and said he was one of the best I’ve ridden and I’ve been waiting 20 years to find something like this and it’s finally coming to fruition,” said Dunn.

The top priced lot at the 2011 Inglis Australian Easter Yearling Sale when selling for $1,025,000, All Too Hard was acquired by as a future stallion prospect late last year by his current owners; Vinery Stud Synd (Mgr P Orton), Kia-Ora Stud Synd (Mgr A Krishnan), Echo Beach B'Stock Synd (Mgr A Green), Stratheden Stud Synd (Mgr C Marheine), B M Nolan, Peters Inv Synd (Mgr R Peters), Nearco Breeding Synd (Mgr G Tomlinson), C Oxley, C H Madden, Dr R H Burgess, C S Lord & J Lord.

The mega valuable colt has scored two consecutive Group 1 wins since the purchase adding further to his impressive resume which includes the title of equal World Champion 3YO Turf Miler of 2012.

“All Too Hard was a big risk when we bought him but he was a developing horse and what we knew with Black Caviar was that she developed and developed,” said part-owner Neil Werrett, who also races Black Caviar.

“Today and last time [Orr Stakes] showed us that as a three-year-old and four-year-old this horse is going to be quite dominant.

“He had the best breeding of probably any horse in Australia so from our point of view it probably wasn’t a big gamble but it was a lot of money,” Werrett said.

There is plenty of anticipation surrounding his yearling half-brother by Redoute’s Choice which will be offered as Lot 131 by Three Bridges Thoroughbreds as agent for Rick Jamieson's Gilgai Farm at the 2013 Inglis Australian Easter Yearling Sale.

All Too Hard’s owners, along with trainers John, Wayne & Michael Hawkes, will decide in the coming days whether the three-year-old will back up next week in the Group 1 VRC Australian Guineas over 1600m at Flemington.

“He’ll be 99 percent sure of running but obviously we’ve got to see how he licks the bin and how he is the next 48 hours and if there is any doubt we won’t,” said Wayne Hawkes.

Triple state treat for Inglis yearling sale buys

Adding to All Too Hard’s stakes victory in Victoria was She’s Clean and Better Than Ready in New South Wales and Queensland respectively, making it a triple state treat on Saturday for graduates of Inglis select yearling sales.

She’s Clean ($300,000 2010 Easter, 4m Redoute’s Choice-Feather Duster) took both her trainer Chris Waller and sire Redoute’s Choice into the 100 club with victory in the in the Listed ATC Triscay Stakes over 1200m at Warwick Farm.

The well bred four-year-old mare settled just behind the speed for Jimmy Cassidy and when pulled into the middle of the track in the straight she stormed home to a narrow win over Appearance.

The victory was Chris Waller’s 100th win for the 2012/13 racing season. She’s Clean also became the 100th individual stakes winners for her champion sire Redoute’s Choice.

From the family of Japanese champion sprinter/miler Kinshasa No Kiseki, the Ingham Racing owned mare was bred by Arrowfield Stud and sold from their draft at the 2010 Inglis Australian Easter Yearling Sale. She’s Clean is now a very valuable racing and breeding prospect.

Redoute's Choice has twice been champion Australian sire in 2006 and 2010 and of his 100 stakes winner, 21 have been at Group One level.

Two yearlings by Redoute’s Choice are set to be offered at the upcoming Inglis Melbourne Premier Yearling Sale. 35 lots by the champion sire have also been catalogued for the Inglis Australian Easter Yearling Sale.

In Brisbane the Kelly Schweida purchased and trained galloper Better Than Ready ($140,000 2011 Easter, 3c More Than Ready-Sally’s World) took out the Listed BRC Falvelon Handicap over 1200m at Eagle Farm.

The impressive three length victory was the three-year-old’s fifth win from just eight starts. It took the colt’s earnings to $239,000.

Better Than Ready was a $140,000 purchase by Schweida from the draft of Newgate Farm at the 2011 Inglis Australian Easter Yearling Sale.

Patinack Farm will offer the yearling half-sister to Better Than Ready as Lot 310 at this year’s Easter Sale.

While Arrowfield Stud will offer the yearling three-quarter-sister to She’s Clean as Lot 373 at the Melbourne Premier Yearling Sale next month.

Lot 171 in the Melbourne catalogue also received a significant boost today with his half-brother Super Cool winning the Group 2 MRC Autumn Stakes over 1800m at Caulfield.

The half-brother to Super Cool will be the first of the offerings in the inaugural ‘Blue Riband’ Session at the 2013 Inglis Melbourne Premier Yearling Sale, which will be conducted at Oaklands on 3, 4, 5 & 6 March.

Following on 9, 10 & 11 April in Sydney is the 2013 Inglis Australian Easter Yearling Sale.
