Supplementaries Flowing In For Weanling & Breeding Stock Sale

This month’s Inglis Australian Weanling and Breeding Stock Sale continues to become stronger by the day, with the Supplementary entries already received boosting the catalogue to more than 500.

The Sale will be held at Newmarket on June 25 and 26.

This sale achieved outstanding results in 2008, with Dispersals from Tyreel Stud and Sue Suduk both attracting seven figure bids on selected lots, including a southern hemisphere record of $5million for Milanova.

Supplementary entries fared very well at the sale, including three million dollar lots in the Suduk Dispersal and top Thunder Gulch mare Imana selling to Patinack Farm for $550,000.

“We were thrilled with the results achieved last year and another very good catalogue has already been assembled for this month’s sale,” Inglis Bloodstock Director Jonathan D’Arcy said.

“Highlighted by the Johnson Family Dispersal and Makybe Reduction, it will ensure a similarly strong buying bench attends this year.

“This is a great opportunity to sell fillies off the track, as the market seems to be placing a premium on those horses, as we have seen at earlier broodmare sales this year.

“Being so close to the breeding season, now is the ideal time for owners to cash in on that trend.”

Among the supplementary mares entered is the Group 3 South Australian Oaks winner Queen Of Queens (King Of Kings-The Kulm, by Grand Lodge). The Mick Price trained mare was also Group 1 placed last season and has been stakes placed this campaign in Sydney. She is among the chances for this Saturday’s $200,000 Ipswich Cup.

Queen Of Queens is among 23 supplementary mares entered to date. Others include a Redoute’s Choice three-year-old filly and mares in foal to high profile stallions like Bernardini, Dubawi, Dylan Thomas, Henny Hughes, Husson, Lion Heart, Oratorio, Tale Of The Cat and Wonderful World.

Vendors include Patinack Farm, Rothwell Park, Yarraman and Widden.

Additional weanling entries include a Foreplay half-sister to recent stakes winner Facile Tigre and an Elvstroem half-brother to the stakes winning Deianira. Other supplementary weanlings include progeny of Exceed And Excel, Lonhro, Magic Albert, Reset and the first season dual G1 winner Ad Valorem.

Supplementary entries will be open until next Friday, June 19.
