Supplementary Lots Bolster Inglis Breeding Stock Sale

12th Jun 2008

The William Inglis Australian Weanling and Breeding Stock Sale just keeps getting stronger, with another group of high class mares added to the supplementary catalogue.

The initial catalogue includes the outstanding Tyreel Stud Reduction and last week Philippa Duncan announced that Sue Suduk’s outstanding Risdon Bloodstock broodmare band would be sold in an unreserved supplementary addition to the sale.

To be offered by Philippa Duncan Bloodstock, the Risdon Dispersal includes mares the calibre of Group 1 winner and producer Shindig and the Group 2 winning Eight Carat descendant Peruzzi and her stakes performing daughters Lucida and Flora Danica.

In all, the Risdon Dispersal includes 32 mares and the pedigrees are now online. A hard copy catalogue will be mailed out next week.

The Tyreel Reduction is highlighted by a number of Group 1 winners, including Bonanova, Dashing Eagle and Hula Angel, along with Group 3 winner Milanova – a full-sister to Champion European juvenile Holy Roman Emperor.

The latest inclusion of a small, but select group of quality mares to the June Breeding Stock Sale will form a supplementary catalogue offered after Lot 508 - immediately prior to the Tyreel and Risdon Stud dispersals, to be sold on Sunday June 29.

The Breeding Stock Sale now boasts more than 250 mares.

Heading the supplementary is the stakes placed LIATRIS (Rock Of Gibraltar-Subterfuge, by Machiavellian), a $1.3m yearling and three quarter sister to the top class Hong Kong galloper Scintillation and the multiple stakes winning Group 1 placed mare Shania Dane.

She is to be offered as a breeding prospect straight off the track.

It is not often a young Group One producing mare comes on the market but this is the case for the Flying Spur mare GRAND PROSPECT (ex Merry Life, by Bletchingly), dam of the Group One winner Grand Journey.

A young mare whose career has got off to the best possible start, Grand Prospect sells in foal to More Than Ready (USA) and the resultant foal will be bred on the same cross as the Golden Slipper winner Sebring.

Group One winning mare IN JOYMENT (NZ) (St. Hilarion-Fun, by Three Legs) and the stakes winning mare RUBIDIUM (Rubiton-Gulet, by Kalaglow) will also be offered at the sale.

Both of these mares carry a positive test to the young Darley Stud stallion Nadeem.

The stakes placed Flying Spur mare BELLA PRINCESS (ex Ladybird Blue, by Bluebird) will be offered as a broodmare prospect off the track and the city winning mare PERETTE (Peintre Celebre-Royal Aria, by Palace Music) sells in foal to More Than Ready's son Benicio.

Finally, Hunter Valley nursery Yarraman Park will offer a select group of four mares headed by the stakes winner FLASHED (Fuji Kiseki-Bright Light, by El Moxie) in foal to Fastnet Rock, and the stakes placed GRAPHITE LASS (Unbridled’s Son-Bratenahl, by Bletchingly) in foal to Mossman, with the latter being the dam of the undefeated Tim Martin trained speedster Aggie Grey.

Yarraman will also offer the well related mares KOOROORA BLUE (Red Ransom-Restful Place, by Polish Precedent) in foal to Magic Albert and the broodmare prospect TEASE ME (Encosta De Lagy-Flashed, by Fuji Kiseki) as supplementaries.

"These are some outstanding supplementary entries and we are delighted to be afforded the opportunity to sell these mares for our clients in what is already a great sales catalogue,” William Inglis Managing Director Mark Webster said.

“With the New Sire Showcase for the weanlings, the Tyreel and Risdon Stud dispersals and now these quality mares, this sale is shaping up to be one that is not to be missed by any serious bloodstock investor.”

The Australian Weanling and Breeding Stock Sale begins with the weanlings on Thursday June 26 and Friday June 27, followed by the Breeding Stock Sale on Sunday June 29.
