Three on the Trot for Redoute's Choice Mare

Breednet - Mark Smith - Saturday, 8 June 2013

Expensive Redoute's Choice mare She's Clean continued on her winning way at Randwick on Saturday when she ran down the high-class Neeson in the Listed June Stakes (1200m).

Jason Collett elected to take the 4yo mare back in the field from her outside barrier and it paid off. Still standing up Neeson a sizable start inside the 200 metres, She's Clean powered home over the top of Neeson to win by a half-length with 1-1/2 lengths to Upshot in third.

"I wanted to make sure she had cover before we went looking for the better ground," Collett said.

"I couldn't see any point in travelling wide throughout just to get the better ground in the straight.

"You give away too much ground in the run and then the horse that gets a cheap run has too much kick over the last bit.

"She's got a Group I race after this and I wanted to make sure she was running through the line."

The Chris Waller-trained mare will now head to Brisbane for the Group I Tatts Tiara (1400m) at Eagle Farm in a fortnight where she is likely to line up against stablemates Red Tracer and Arinosa.

Bred by Arrowfield Pastoral and Planette Thoroughbred, She's Clean takes her overall record to 8 wins, 2 seconds and 3 thirds from 16 starts for earnings of $416,620.

She has now won three in succession including the Listed Triscay Stakes.

A $300,000 purchase by Ingham Racing at the 2010 Inglis Australian Easter Yearling sale, She's Clean is the second foal of the stakes-placed End sweep mare Feather Duster a half-sister to the tough Australian-bred sprinter Kinshasa No Kiseki (Fuji Kiseki) a dual Group 1 winner in Japan.

The third foal of Feather Duster is the promising Snitzel colt Windswept who won first-up at Canterbury dcefeating subsequent Scone Guineas winner Taxmeifyoucan before finishing second to that horse at Warwick Farm in July last year.

Feather Duster has a yearling filly by Flying Spur and a filly foal by Not A Single Doubt. She was bred back to Not A Single Doubt last year.
