Tickets now available for 'Inglis Sunday Lunch' fundraiser

The second annual ‘Inglis Sunday Lunch’ – raising money for the Ingham Institute and South West Local Health District – will take place at Riverside on Sunday April 2, the day prior to the start of the Easter Yearling Sale.

Industry personalities Jason Richardson and Emma Freedman will MC the event which will be co-hosted by Arthur & Charlotte Inglis, Jamie & Sarah Inglis, John Coates AC & Orieta Coates, John & Frances Ingham and Bill Winning.

In the luncheon’s inaugural year, an extraordinary $1.2m was raised, enabling the acquisition of ground-breaking cardiac robotic equipment for the Ingham Institute and South West Local Health District.

This world-leading technology will result in the first such cardiac robotic surgery conducted in Australia and facilitate important research into new techniques in treating cardiac disease.

The Ingham Institute has recently announced a research partnership with the Victor Chang Institute and funds raised this year will also go towards their research in collaboration.

The Inglis Sunday Lunch will be an afternoon of fabulous food and entertainment including an exciting auction and raffle featuring an array of unique items.

Tickets are $1,000 per head - or $10,000 for a table of 10 – which includes a $650 voluntary tax-deductible donation element per ticket.

All funds will go toward medical research and health technologies.

The menu will be designed and supervised by award-winning celebrity chef Martin Boetz and accompanied by premium Penfolds wines.

Boetz has redefined modern Asian cuisine and was the Executive Chef at Longrain for over 20 years, across Sydney and Melbourne. Most recently, he has channelled his passion for quality produce into the Cooks Co-op, which gives restaurants access to the best ingredients.

“The inaugural event last year was such an overwhelming success, it was a fabulously fun afternoon at Riverside and to raise in excess of $1m for local health research was amazing,’’ Arthur Inglis said.

“We had such great support from so many of Sydney’s leading personalities and businesses who so generously donated to what is a great cause and we’re looking forward to another successful lunch in April.

“I strongly urge people to get behind this event again, we would love to again raise a significant amount of money like last year and with the support I’m expecting from our great clients, friends and corporate partners, I’m confident we can achieve that.

“This is all part of a huge weekend for our sport in Sydney, with Day 1 of The Championships at Randwick on the Saturday, this luncheon on the Sunday and then the two days of the Easter Yearling Sale on the Monday and Tuesday.’’

Guests attending the luncheon will have the opportunity to request a pre-lunch inspection experience of some of the elite yearlings in the Easter catalogue, accompanied by Inglis Senior Bloodstock Consultants and leading agents.
