Caulfield Trainer Clinton McDonald is a strong believer in timing, so it is only fitting that two of his purchases from the inaugural Blue Riband session at the 2013 Inglis Premier Yearling Sale are lining up in Saturday’s first Inglis Cup over 2000m at his home track.
Castelo (High Chaparral x Ponte de Lima) and Gloryland (Good Journey x Zip Baby Zip) were two of 49 horses offered from Inglis’ first Blue Riband Session, a section designed for horses built to excel in their classic year and over longer distances.
“Both horses had good conformation and a frame that was going to need time, but for the type of horses these are it is still very early in their careers. It’s the start of their second year racing, we’re looking forward to bigger and better things from both of them, hopefully all starting in this weekend’s Inglis Cup!” said McDonald.
“The Melbourne Premier Sale as a whole is perfectly suited to Victorian trainers, and the Inglis Race Series adds another level to that with significant prizemoney and bonuses offered year-round including $250,000 this Saturday, it’s a terrific incentive!”
