A colt by Redoute's Choice from Alinghi's sister Slice Of Paradise topped today's Inglis Spring Thoroughbred Sale when knocked down to International Equities Holdings, USA, for $75,000.
Named Posterity, the unraced three-year-old colt was purchased by leading Chilean breeder Oussama Aboughazaleh with the intention being to stand the regally bred colt at his Haras Sumaya in Chile.
Mr Aboughazaleh was a shareholder in Hussonet before his sale to Arrowfield Stud and he also bred and raced that stallion's Champion filly Wild Spirit.
Patinack Farm were also active at the sale, picking up the next two highest lots of the day – Tiptoe, the Viscount half-sister to G1 Stradbroke Handicap winner Crawl, for $54,000 and the G2 placed Danasinga mare Fancyfree for $50,000.
In all, Patinack purchased seven fillies and mares at today's sale.
Almost $1million was traded at Newmarket today on 131 horses.
Inglis Bloodstock Director Jonathan D'Arcy said it was a pleasing sale from a number of perspectives.
“It was great to see that the online entry and cataloguing concept for this sale worked particularly well,” D'Arcy said.
“We had good competition on most lots and the excellent overall clearance rate of 90% was helped along by strong competition from online bidders.
“This sale also showed that the broodmare market is still particularly strong, especially for race fillies off the track.”
The next Inglis Sale is the Melbourne 2 & 3YO Ready To Run Sale in Melbourne on October 26.
