Trio of Impressive Juvenile Wins

Inglis babies did the right thing by punters in the three eastern states today, with a trio of impressive winners.

HOT SNITZEL ($60,000 2010 Premier, 2g Snitzel-Flames Of Paris) led the way with his dominant six and a half lengths win in the Listed Ken Russell Memorial on the Gold Coast.

The Bellerive Stud graduate was purchased by Triple Crown Syndications and has given the big team of owners a wonderful ride, having already won $175,000.

The best could yet to be come though, with trainer Gerald Ryan heading forward to the Queensland Sires and T.J. Smith Classic at Eagle Farm next month.

TAMPIKO ($500,000 2007 Easter, 5m Lonhro-Ancient Song) later made it an Inglis stakes double at the Gold Coast when she won the Listed Prime Minister’s Cup in a thrilling finish.

The Lonhro mare was sold by Turangga Farm, being from the Ramsey family’s former Group 1 winning Canny Lad mare Ancient Song.

In Sydney, the Ron Leemon trained MANAWANUI ($45,000 2010 Classic, 2g Oratorio-Lady Remlap) made it consecutive Canterbury wins when proving too classy over the 1250m.

Leemon, who secured Manawanui from the draft of Goodwood Farm, has a good opinion of the Oratorio (IRE) gelding and is lining up some of the big spring features. He named the Group 1 Spring Champion Stakes as one potential target.

At Flemington, THE NEW BOY ($75,000 2010 Easter II, 2g Rock Of Gibralter-Chestpeak) justified heavy backing when lasting to win over 1400m.

The Danny O’Brien trained youngster had been a touch unlucky last week when a close second to City Of Song in Listed grade.
