TVN and Telstra join forces to launch new website

TVN are set to "launch a new website backed by Telstra” that will stream live vision of metropolitan racing from Sydney and Melbourne as well as Victorian provincial, country and Hong Kong race meetings.

Content on the new website will be "including live and archival vision” and punters will be able to bet online through a wagering odds comparator offering odds from tote operators and corporate bookmakers.

TVN chief executive Peter Sweeney said the new website "coupled with an updated mobile phone application and internet program linked to Telstra’s T-box, would grow the overall wagering market rather than directly taking business away from Tabcorp’s totes”.

"It’s not about shifting it from one market to another – it’s about growing the pie,” Sweeney told the The Australian Financial Review .

"We’re recognising that the markets have moved so much, people have got to be able to get access to the vision other than going to the retail outlets.”
