Two Out of Two for Record Priced Al Maher

Purchased for $320,000 by Belmont Bloodstock from the Yarraman Park draft at the 2013 Inglis Australian Easter Yearling Sale, Al Maher filly Silverstream is the most expensive yearling for her sire ever sold and looked the goods when making it two wins in as many starts when saluting at Belmont on Wednesday.

Prepared by Grant Williams, Silverstream was resuming from a let-up of 10 weeks and coasted home to win over 1200 metres by a length and a half.

Silverstream runs for popular WA based owners Bob and Sue Peters and is a full sister to Group III AJC Adrian Knox Stakes winner Speedy Natalie.

Foaled and raised at Yarraman Park, she is the sixth winner from stakes-winning Brocco (USA) mare Speedy Bell, whose current two year-old filly by Not a Single Doubt fetched $170,000 this year when secured by Round Table Racing/James Harron Bloodstock.

Speedy Bell has a yearling colt to follow by Snitzel, but unfortunately missed to Hinchinbrook last spring.
