Unprecedented number of entries results in Digital extension

A phenomenal amount of entries in the Inglis Digital April Online Sale has seen the ‘final countdown’ of bidding start time amended to 10am Thursday April 30, rather than the standard 3pm Wednesday time.

A total of 564 horses have been catalogued in the April Online Sale, smashing the previous record of 376 from July 2019.

The category breakdowns are as follows: 77 Racehorses, 94 Race Fillies, 22 Shares, 73 Weanlings, 102 Yearlings, 189 Broodmares (five 3-in-1 packages, 100 in foal, 16 foals at foot), two Unbroken Stock and five Stallions.

The extension in bidding is to ensure prospective buyers have more time to do their research and an earlier finish time for both buyers and vendors, with each lot staggered by one minute commencing with Lot 1.

Inglis Digital Business Manager Nick Melmeth said: “When we saw the amount of entries coming in this week, we realised buyers and vendors will need that little bit of extra time to work through the catalogue and also didn’t want to be selling horses late into Wednesday night.

“We are staggered by the support from vendors, many of whom have large drafts of broodmares, yearlings and weanlings and we wish them all the best for the sale.’’

Vendors with bulk entries include: Aquis Farm, Australian Bloodstock, Blue Gum Farm, Chris Waller Racing, Ciaron Maher Racing, Gai Waterhouse & Adrian Bott Racing, Gooree Park Stud, Kingstar Farm, Larneuk Stud, Mullaglass Stud, Newgate Farm, Rosemont Stud, Segenhoe Stud, Sledmere Stud, Vinery Stud, Woodside Park and Yu Long Investments.
