Reigning Victoria Derby winner Polanski will stand the 2015 season at stud in Victoria.

Polanski suffered a career-ending and life-threatening tendon injury after running in the Group 1 Futurity Stakes earlier this year. His future had been in doubt.

Once his life was saved, his connections set out to find a home for him as a stallion.

The fact that he is by the unfashionable Rakti made it a difficult sell, but trainer Robbie Laing confirmed on Sunday that the horse would be standing this breeding season at Roycevale Farm, in Violet Town in Victoria's north east.

Laing tweeted that details, including his service fee, would be announced soon.

Laing paid just $4000 for Polanski as a yearling. The horse won more than $1 million on the track before his untimely injury.
