Vision Showcases Waikato Power

Racing and Sports - Sunday, 5 April 2009

The Waikato Stud roadshow rolled on again yesterday, with Vision And Power giving the stud a record-equalling five individual Group 1 winners in the one season.

Vision And Power, who was sold by the Chittick family at the 2004 Inglis Australian Easter Sale for $210,000, joins Metal Bender, Alamosa, Swick and Daffodil as Group 1 winners off the famous New Zealand farm this term.

The tally of five equals the stud's previous best record, which came in the 2005-06 season through the deeds of Starcraft, Glamour Puss, Legs, Marju Snip and Arenti.

Vision And Power is a half-sister to Glamour Puss, the dual Group 1 winning daughter of Tale Of The Cat, being from Waikato's outstanding Centaine mare Escada, who also produced G2 winner Rare Insight.

Vision And Power is the ninth individual Group 1 winner this season to emanate from the Inglis Australian Easter Yearling Sale, which begins today.

Waikato Stud have a draft of seven yearlings to be sold over the three days.
