Wadham Park Racing Unreserved Dispersal in Melbourne next month

The 2012 Inglis Melbourne August Thoroughbred Sale to be held next month at Oaklands (Thursday 16 and Friday 17 August) has been significantly boosted by the unreserved dispersal of the Wadham Park Racing Stable.

Wadham Park has recognised the tremendous growth opportunities available to Victorian Breeders through recently announced government initiatives including VOBIS Gold and as such will be concentrating their efforts on their breeding operation, Woodside Park Stud.

“We recently undertook a complete review of all our operations and came to the decision that our immediate focus will be directed to the breeding part of the organisation,” said Wadham Park’s Managing Director Dale Sutton.

All horses currently raced by Woodside Park Stud that are trained at Wadham Park will be offered unreserved on Day Two of next month’s Inglis Melbourne August Thoroughbred Sale.

The dispersal of 37 racehorses will include high quality gallopers such as city winning mares Ravenous Lass, Simply Put, Lis Nediym and Zeftabaa, plus exciting young prospects such as Speed Dater, Vincente and recent winner Zulu Princess. Also included are several unraced two-year-olds by proven stallions as well as a broken in yearling colt by Testa Rossa.

“While this is a significant change in direction for us, we are very excited about the future, with a number of facilities and resources available at Wadham Park to be utilised in the expansion of Woodside Park,” said Sutton.

“We will be adding depth to our broodmare band to support our current stallions Foreplay, Econsul and Grey Swallow. In addition we will be positioning ourselves to take advantage of future stallion prospects as they become available,” Sutton added.

Wadham Park horses that are entered in the August Sale will continue to race right up until the Sale.

In addition to the Wadham Park Racing entries, Darley will once again be offering a number of quality racing stock in their annual reduction at next month’s Inglis Sale in Melbourne.

The Inglis Melbourne August Thoroughbred Sale catalogue will be available online later this week.

Supplementary entries for the sale close on Thursday, 9 August. Supplementary entry forms can be downloaded from www.inglis.com.au.
