Winter TB Sale at Newmarket concludes - New format for 2010

Lime Squeeze (Exceed And Excel ex Let’s Get Even, by Thunder Gulch), a three-quarter sister to Group winner Get Square was the top price of $26,000 at today’s Inglis Winter Thoroughbred Sale held in Sydney.

Online bidding played a big part in today’s sale, with 25% of the lots attracting an online bid and 12% selling online, helping the clearance rate to 92% for the 130 lots which sold for a gross of $525,400.

Next year’s sale will be conducted as a racehorse and yearling sale on Sunday June 27, merging with The Australian Weanling And Breeding Stock Sale Select and General sessions on 24, 25th.

“It makes sense with the close proximity of these sales to amalgamate them’” said Inglis Bloodstock Director Jonathan D’Arcy.

“It will also suit some studs with later yearlings that also have breeding stock to sell to bring them to market at the one time.”

Yearlings from this year’s sale can nominate for the Inglis Race Series which closes on July 31. Entry Forms can by downloaded HERE

Horses passed in at today's sale can still be purchased via the Inglis Make-An-Offer Service, which also includes unsold lots from the Australian Weanling & Breeding Stock Sale.

The next Inglis Sale is the Melbourne August Thoroughbred Sale at Oaklands in Melbourne, which has attracted an entry of more than 400 horses. Owing to the outstanding response, this sale will now be held over two days, beginning a day earlier on Thursday August 13 and concluding Friday August 14. Entries can still be lodged up until close of business Wednesday July 8.

That sale will be followed by the Scone Broodmare Sale on August 28, with nominations for that sale closing on July 17.
