Terms and conditions of qualification for the Inglis Race Series

1. RIGHT TO BE ENTERED FOR INGLIS RACE SERIES

1.1 For the purpose of this clause the following sales conducted by William Inglis & Son Limited are Inglis Select Yearling Sales:

  • Sydney Classic Yearling Sale
  • Melbourne Premier Yearling Sale
  • Australian Easter Yearling Sale
  • Melbourne Gold Yearling Sale
  • HTBA May Yearling Sale
  • Inglis Digital Online Sale (Yearlings Only)
  • Australian Weanling Sale
  • Great Southern Weanling Sale
  • Ready2Race Sale

1.2 Subject to clauses 1.5, 1.6 and 1.7, all yearlings which have been offered for sale through the ring at any Inglis Select Yearling Sale and other sales listed are qualified to be entered in the Inglis Race Series.

1.3 Following the offer of a horses for sale at an approved Inglis Sale but subject to clause 2.3, the owner of that horse has the right to have that horse entered for the Inglis Race Series.

1.4 For the avoidance of doubt, only yearlings sold or passed in at an Inglis Select Yearling Sale are qualified to be entered for the Inglis Race Series.

1.5 If a horse is passed in at an approved Inglis Sale and is subsequently sold, such subsequent sale must be a sale by William Inglis & Son Limited conducted under its Conditions of Sale in order to be or remain eligible to be qualified to be entered for any of the Inglis Race Series.

1.6 If a horse is offered for sale at two or more approved Inglis Sales eligibility into the Inglis Race Series is determined on the basis that such horse was offered for sale through the ring only at the latter of such sales.

1.7 Any horse which has been sold or passed in at a sale not conducted by William Inglis & Son Limited which is then subsequently sold or passed in at an approved Inglis Sale may be entered into the Inglis Select Race Series at the absolute discretion of William Inglis & Son Limited.

2. ENTERING YEARLINGS FOR INGLIS RACE SERIES

2.1 The Owner of a horse which is qualified for entry into the Inglis Race Series who wishes to enter the horse into the Inglis Race Series must lodge the Nomination Form, together with the prescribed Nomination Fee (including GST) by 5pm 31 July in the year the yearling became qualified to be entered.

2.2 The Nomination Form, together with the prescribed Nomination Fee, must be lodged in the prescribed manner as directed on the Official Nomination Form obtainable from William Inglis & Son Limited offices, on the Inglis Website www.inglis.com.au or by completing the Nomination on the acknowledgement of purchase docket at the time of purchase.

2.3 William Inglis & Son Limited reserves the right to reject any Nomination Form or extend the time to lodge such nomination for the Inglis Race Series in its absolute discretion and without being obliged to give any reason therefore.

3. INGLIS RACE SERIES

3.1 Races described as below are each part of the Inglis Race Series *Inglis Restricted Races *Inglis Triple Crown Races

3.2 The date, distance, venue, prize money (to the extent such prize money can be determined by William Inglis & Son Limited) payable in respect of any race by William Inglis & Son Limited, in the Inglis Race Series and the terms upon which such prize money will be payable, will be advised on the William Inglis & Son Limited website and may be subject to change.

3.3 No prize money will be paid by William Inglis & Son Limited in respect of any Inglis Race Series race despite a horse otherwise being so entitled if any swab, objection or inquiry procedure results in the disqualification of that horse. In the event any such prize money has already been paid by William Inglis & Son Limited such amount as has been paid is, upon the disqualification, immediately repayable by the recipient to William Inglis & Son Limited as a debt due.

4. INGLIS RESTRICTED RACES

4.1. Inglis Restricted Races are races in which only horses that have been entered into the Inglis Race Series are eligible to compete.

4.2. Other than in respect of the rules regarding the eligibility for nomination and acceptance of horses to run in the Inglis Restricted Races including the distribution of prize money, Inglis Restricted Races are to be conducted in accordance with the Australian Rules of Racing and the Principal Racing Authority conducting the meeting at which the Inglis Restricted Race is being run.

5. INGLIS TRIPLE CROWN BONUS RACES

5.1. The Inglis Triple Crown consists of the following races.

Leg 1: Either

  • RL 2YO Inglis Banner, 1000m
  • RL 2YO Inglis Nursery, 1000m

Leg 2:

  • Inglis Millennium, 1100m

Leg 3:

  • ATC G1 Inglis Sires Produce Stakes, 1400m

6.2. If won, the Inglis Triple Crown Bonus including applicable GST will be distributed as to:

a. 80% to the Owner/s of the horse after Leg 3 is won.

b. 10% to the Trainer or Training Partnership of the horse after Leg 3 is won.

c. 5% to the Breeder/s of the horse as described in the Australian Stud Book.

d. 5% to the Vendor of the horse as published in the William Inglis & Son Limited Catalogue which presented the yearling for sale.

6.3. Other than in respect of the distribution of a bonus to be paid by William Inglis & Son Limited to a horse that has been entered in the Inglis Race Series, the Inglis Triple Crown races are to be conducted in accordance with the Australian Rules of Racing and the Principal Racing authority conducting the meeting at which the races are run.

6.4 Should a horse entered in the Inglis Race Series dead-heat for first place in any leg of the Inglis Triple Crown, any bonus payable at the conclusion of the Inglis Triple Crown will be awarded except if two or more horses entered in the Inglis Race Series dead heat for first place in all three legs of the Triple Crown, in which case the bonus will be divided equally between all such horses.
