One Sweet Day topped the 2013 Inglis Spring Thoroughbred Sale when sold in foal to the ill-fated Champion First Season Sire Northern Meteor.
Offered by Widden Stud as Lot 49, One Sweet Day was snapped up by Luskin Park Stud for $80,000. The well related city winning mare was carrying a positive test to Northern Meteor from a 23 October covering last season.
116 lots were sold at the clearance rate of 95% for $532,050.
Lots that passed-in during the sale are available for purchase via the Inglis Make An Offer service.
“There was some good buying completed today in Sydney, with some nice young fillies and mares snapped up for the impending breeding season at value prices,” said Inglis Bloodstock Director Jonathan D’Arcy.
“The top lot highlights what a tragic loss to the industry Northern Meteor is. The son of Encosta de Lago has three runners in tomorrow’s Group 3 Run To The Rose, adding further focus on his five colts and geldings entered for the inaugural Inglis Sydney Ready 2 Race Sale in early October,” D’Arcy added.
