Sale Overview

2015 Classic Sale Autumn Book catalogue

An 85% clearance rate was achieved at the Inglis Classic Yearling Sale Autumn Book, as familiar faces returned to the sales source of their stable’s current two-year-old stars.

71 yearlings were traded in the Autumn Book, before a further 11 racehorses were sold in the afternoon sun during the May Thoroughbred Sale offerings.

One client who has experienced great results at Inglis Classic is Dr Ulysses Crosson. Part-owner of Lady Jivago (Beneteau x Hussterics), Crosson and his wife Susan picked the filly out of last year’s sale and took her home for $14,000. She has now won two of her three starts as a two-year-old, including the $250,000 RL Inglis Classic Race at Rosehill earlier this year, amassing over $190,000 for her owners.

Dr and Mrs Crosson were again active today, securing two fillies from the Autumn Book: Bradbury’s Luck x Belle Asteri (Lot 26) from Carramar Park for $23,000, and Myboycharlie x Keep The Filly (Lot 58) from Ferndale Farm for $20,000.

Both fillies are out of relations to Group 3 winners, and, like Lady Jivago, will be trained by Jeff Englebrecht at Wyong.

“They were the two standouts for us, Jeff came and had a look at them with us yesterday. Sue preferred the Myboycharlie and I preferred the Bradbury’s Luck, so we took them both home,” said Crosson.

“We hope we’ll be back at the Classic Race again next year, taking home two we’ve doubled our chances!” Crosson said.

Pat Farrell won this year’s $100,000 Wellington Boot with $10,000 Inglis Classic buy Alart and the Muswellbrook trainer is hoping the Stryker x Edikeni filly (Lot 43) he snapped up today will give him back-to-back wins in the Country NSW feature.

Any Lots that passed in during the Inglis Classic Yearling Sale Autumn Book and the May Thoroughbred Sale are available for sale via the Inglis Make-An-Offer Service.

All yearlings sold or passed in at an Inglis Select Yearling Sale are eligible for nomination to the Inglis Race Series. Nominations for 2015 Inglis yearling sale graduates to be included in the next Race Series close on 31 July 2015.
