2021 Australian Easter Yearling Sale catalogue

PRE-SALE INSPECTION MAP

A total of 466 Easter yearlings have been catalogued for the two days of selling at Riverside on April 6 and 7.

In this year’s Easter catalogue there are siblings to 161 Stakes winners including 42 G1 winners like Exceedance, Pierata, Vow And Declare, Te Akau Shark, Tagaloa, Super Seth, Southern Legend, She Will Reign, Invinciblella etc and progeny of 169 Stakes-winning mares including 39 G1 winners such as Pinot, Catchy, First Seal, Srikandi, Politeness, Snitzerland, Lasqueti Spirit, Norzita, Our Egyptian Raine, Suavito etc.

There is incredible strength among the stallions represented which includes the likes of I Am Invincible, Snitzel, Pierro, Zoustar, Fastnet Rock, Written Tycoon, Exceed And Excel, Not A Single Doubt, Savabeel, Lonhro, So You Think, Sebring, Deep Field, Street Boss etc and, very significantly, yearlings from the final crop of Redoute’s Choice all involved.

The best of the international stallions are also represented through Deep Impact, Frankel, Kingman, Lord Kanaloa, Medaglia d’Oro, Siyouni, Tapit, Duramente etc.

The best progeny of an exciting group of first season sires are also well represented by young stallions such as Merchant Navy, Russian Revolution, Almanzor, Hellbent, Menari, Pariah, Ribchester, Impending, Churchill and Caravaggio.

The catalogue also includes yearlings by a legion of Australasia’s most promising young stallions like Capitalist, Extreme Choice, Shamus Award, Shalaa, American Pharoah and Toronado amongst others.

Arrowfield Stud is leading vendor with 49 entries followed by Coolmore (40), Widden (28), Segenhoe (23) and Yarraman Park (22).

The Easter Yearling Sale has continually produced the best racehorses and stallion prospects year in year out, most recently via the likes of The Autumn Sun, Exceedance, Loving Gaby, Merchant Navy, Estijaab, Trapeze Artist, Russian Revolution, Personal etc.

It’s graduates like these that have, since 2018, seen Inglis auctions produce 54 G1 winners, 28 that could have been purchased for $100,000 or less, almost double our nearest competitor.

Inglis sales have also produced more G1 winners overall, more Australian G1-winning 2YOs, more Australian Group winners, more G1-winning colts, more G1-winning fillies, more winners of the $1m+ races and more Hong Kong winners than the nearest competitor in that time, with Easter being a massive part of that success.

Inglis’ General Manager of Bloodstock Sales and Marketing Sebastian Hutch described the catalogue as “fantastic’’.

“The catalogue speaks for itself – it’s an incredibly strong collection of horses and it’s a privilege to be given the opportunity by our vendors to offer them for sale,’’ Hutch said.

“Easter is synonymous with the best horses and the record of the sale stands up to the closest scrutiny – it’s the sale most likely to produce a top-class racehorse, whether it’s a Stakes-winning 2YO, G1 colt or a Classic filly.

“The value at the sale is quite incredible when you consider the likes Exceedance, Funstar, Quick Thinker, Nettoyer and Aristia are among the top-class graduates in recent years that could have been bought at Easter for less than $200,000.

“It’s a genuinely exciting time to be involved in such a resilient and vibrant industry and we are looking forward to welcoming people back to Easter in 2021 for what is going to be a fantastic occasion.”
