Extended Inglis Great Southern Catalogue Online

The bumper catalogue for the extended Inglis Great Southern Sale is now online. The 2015 sale will be held over four days on 21, 22, 23 and 24 June 2015 at Inglis’ Oaklands Complex in Melbourne.

The catalogue consists of 354 weanlings, 259 of which will be offered in the Platinum Session, which will kick off selling at 10.30am on Sunday 21 June.

“By offering the Platinum Weanling Session for the first time at the Great Southern Sale consisting only of weanlings with X-Rays, we are able to ensure buyers can bid with added confidence,” said Victorian Bloodstock Director Peter Heagney.

Many weanlings are out of stakes-winning mares or are relations to stakes-winners, as was multiple Group 1 winner Mongolian Khan when he was sold at the 2012 Inglis Great Southern Sale as a weanling for $9,000.

Buyers can look forward to securing some of the first progeny from freshman sires All Too Hard, Americain, Excelebration, Your Song, Bullet Train, Delago Deluxe, Dalakhani, Harbour Watch and Ocean Park.

Proven sires represented in the weanling section include Fastnet Rock, Medaglia d’Oro, Snitzel, Exceed And Excel, Sebring, High Chaparral, Choisir, Bel Esprit, Al Maher, Written Tycoon and Commands.

Vendors have also thrown their support behind the Broodmare session, for which 264 Lots, five with foals at foot, have been catalogued for sale on 22 and 23 June.

Broodmares from some of Victoria’s most sought-after families will be offered with many carrying tomorrows stars, with hot stallions Pierro, Foxwedge, Choisir, Starspangledbanner, Bel Esprit, Written Tycoon, Denman and Master Of Design represented in-utero.

Buyers will have the opportunity to purchase mares covered in the first seasons of Shamus Award, Sizzling, Fiorente, Declaration Of War, Dawn Approach, Eurozone, Akeed Mofeed, War, Kuroshio and Fighting Sun.

80 racehorses, 20 yearlings and five unraced prospects will conclude the final day of the sale on 24 June.
