Group 1 Reminder Of Opportunities At Inglis Australian Broodmare & Weanling Sale

On the eve of the 2015 Inglis Australian Broodmare and Weanling Sale, it is fitting that the dam of today’s Group 1 SAJC Australasian Oaks winner Delicacy (Al Maher x Simply Wicked) was one of the quality Lots purchased at last year’s sale.

Sold as Lot 746 from the draft of Holbrook Thoroughbreds, Simply Wicked (Scenic x Street Talk) was purchased for just $4,000 and subsequently gave birth to a full brother to today’s Group 1 winner.

“Delicacy joins the likes of Criterion, Kermadec, Sepoy, So You Think and Black Caviar, whose dams have produced very valuable stock since they were purchased from an Inglis Broodmare Sale here in Sydney,” points out Jonathan D’Arcy, Inglis’ National Bloodstock Director.

In addition to over 600 opportunities to invest in Australia’s future Blue Hens, 271 weanlings will be offered over the next four days at Inglis’ Newmarket Complex including Lot 129 from Rothwell Park, the brother to the newly stakes-performed Thwayya (Snitzel x Miss Rainmaker). The two-year-old filly has won two from four starts, and ran a close third in today’s Listed Equine Stakes at Te Rapa.

Another two-year-old winner today was is Lee and Anthony Freedman’s promising filly Strykum which took out the Listed SAJC Queen Adelaide Stakes at Morphettville beating Group 3 winner and fellow Inglis graduate Thurlow. Strykum (Stryker x Dinkum Star) was purchased as a weanling for $21,000 at the 2013 Inglis Great Southern Bloodstock and Weanling Sale from the draft of Three Bridges Thoroughbreds.

Strykum’s weanling full sister has been entered in the 2015 edition of the Inglis Great Southern Bloodstock and Weanling Sale from the draft of Ballarto Lodge.

The 2015 Inglis Australian Broodmare and Weanling Sale will begin at 10.30am tomorrow, 3 May, and 4, 5 and 6 May.
