Ready2Race Stars On Show In Victoria

The quality packed Ready2Race Sale breeze ups wound up today at Cranbourne in Victoria with a number of untapped stars showcasing their tremendous talent on the familiar grass surface.

“On behalf of Inglis I would like to praise The Star Ready2Race vendors for presenting another stellar group of racehorses at our breeze up sessions in New Zealand, Sydney and Victoria over the last eight days,” said Mark Webster, Inglis Managing Director.

“Although some other quality international sales don’t time their breeze ups we do think it is beneficial for our markets, but we’re certainly not looking to break any racetrack records. The Ready2Race Sale is about preparing and showcasing quality young horses that will stand up to the rigours of long successful careers on the familiar grass surfaces they will encounter at the top level in Australia, New Zealand and overseas,” Webster points out.

47 two-year-olds and two three-year-olds were timed for the final 200m of their breeze ups on the Dead 5 rated grass surface at Cranbourne today. Over 40 seconds of footage of each lot will be made available on InglisTV, inglis.com.au, the Inglis Sales iPad App and on DVDs for all potential buyers.

The quickest breeze of 10.62 seconds today was recorded by Lot 133, a filly by I Am Invincible from Star Band. The juvenile is one of 10 lots to be offered from the draft of MJI Thoroughbreds at The Star Ready2Race Sale in Sydney on Tuesday 7 October 2014.

Five other lots recorded a breeze up time of less than 11 seconds at Cranbourne on Monday:
10.67 – Magnus x Gold Quest colt (Lot 42) – Nolen Racing, VIC
10.70 – Exceed And Excel x Scarlet Silk colt (Lot 169) – J & J Anderson, VIC
10.80 – Reward For Effort x Belsoeur colt (Lot 6) – Frankie J Stockdale Racing, VIC
10.87 – Hinchinbrook x Balwearie colt (Lot 1) – Nolen Racing, VIC
10.97 – Domesday x Elmfield colt (Lot 32) – J & J Anderson, VIC
