The first Singapore Group 1 race of the year saw the coronation of Zac Spirit as the country’s sprint king as the Flying Spur four-year-old stamped his class on the $500,000 Lion City Cup with an all-conquering display on Sunday.

Inglis graduates Zac Spirit and Holy Empire fought out a stirring battle the Singapore Group 3 Three Rings Trophy over 1400m at Kranji on Sunday evening with only a neck separating the progressive pair on the line.

The final stakes race in Singapore for year, Group 3 Proinn Construct Stakes (1700m), was run on Friday evening with top level gallopers lining up against exciting up-and-comers, and it was Cliff Brown’s striking entire Zac Influence who proved he is one to watch into the future.

Friday night’s Singapore meeting unearthed a couple of highly promising prospects that were sourced out of the Inglis Classic and Easter Yearling Sales and also pointed to some upcoming prospects at the 2011 round of sales.
