Newcastle trainer Kris Lees captured his second Inglis Classic race victory today when his filly Twist Tops scored in the $250,000 black type event at Randwick.
With $500,000 prizemoney, black type status and additional prizes from Swarovski and Antler, 29 two-year-olds from Australia’s leading trainers will step out to contest the next instalments of the Inglis Race Series this Saturday. The RL Inglis Classic at Randwick and the RL Inglis Premier at Caulfield will be run 25 minutes apart, both over over 1200m.
Tony McEvoy is hoping to get a Christmas bonus for the connections of Jackson after the gelding made a winning debut, much to the chagrin of punters in the listed Merson Cooper Stakes (1000m) at Sandown.
