2015 Inglis Sales Conclude On A High

The ultimate Inglis sale in 2015, the December Thoroughbred Sale, concluded an exceptional year of auctions in Inglis sale rings. The sale, held at the Inglis Oaklands Complex in Melbourne, delivered a healthy clearance rate of 90%.

Inglis Victorian Manager, Simon Vivian commented “Our final sale of the year returned some outstanding results and was an ideal way to conclude a successful year of trading.”

The ever-popular Darley draft sold all of their 17 offerings collecting $307,500 at today’s sale, including the top priced lot Chamarel (Lot 80). The stakes-placed three-year-old was secured by YuLong Investments, which again held a strong presence investing $226,200 in 9 lots.

YuLong also secured the New Zealand bred son of Pendragon, Killarney Kid (Lot 174) for $54,000.

“Both Chamarel and Killarney Kid, along with two of YuLong’s other purchases Club Star and Resistant will remain in Australia for a short prep before travelling to China to race for Mr Zhang and his associates,” said Inglis China Representative Jin Tian.

Local representation wasn’t lacking with Warrnambool trainer Symon Wilde going to $52,000 for stakes-placed gelding Crime Fighter (Lot 178), and young trainer Matthew Brown outlying $56,000 on 2 lots.

“I would like to thank our vendors at today’s sale for presenting a quality draft of horses in tip-top order. As expected, the highlights of the sale came with the racehorse sections of the catalogue and our vendors are to be commended on the fabulous condition that the horses were turned out,” added Vivian.
